How-To: achieve Kate’s glossy tresses

Kate's Perfect Hair

‘How can I get my hair to look like Kate Middleton’s?’

This has got to be one of the most FAQ this year… so we thought we’d share with you how our professionals achieve Kate’s look on our clients and the great thing about it is you can achieve it yourself in 5 simple steps!

Step 1

Ensure you are using the right Shampoo and Conditioner for your hair type, we have a range of L’oreal Shampoos and Conditioners suited to different hair densities and textures (Starting from £8.90). Whether it be our L’Oreal Vitamino Colour Shampoo and Conditioner (For Colour Treated Hair), our L’Oreal Liss Ultime Shampoo and Conditioner (For Unmanageable Hair) or our L’oreal Volume Expand Shampoo and Conditioner (For Fine Hair).

Step 2

When washing your hair..ensure you allow at least 2 mins to rinse out any product  residue…and also if you can bare it…it’s always good to used cold water for your last rinse which will help your hair to lock in the conditioner and smooth your hair cuticles, thus give your hair a natural shine.

Kate again with AMAZING hair!

Step 3

Towel try your hair as thoroughly as possible. Apply a light weight product most suited to your hair.

Serum: Dispense 1 or 2 pumps of L’oreal’s Mythic Oil (£14.95) into the palm of your hand and apply to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair, allowing the formula to pamper your tired locks.

Nourishing Volume Mousse: Shake the can of the L’oreal’s Volume Riche (£9.90) well and hold upside down. Release 1-2 mandarin sized amounts into hands. Spread evenly through hair with a comb or fingers.

Root Lift spray-Mousse: Shake the can of the L’oreal Volume Lift (£9.90) well and hold it upright. Spray into the root area from a few centimetres away and work into the hair before blow-drying.

and again....

Step 4

After you have applied your styling product, use a pure bristle radial brush and start blow-drying at the back of your head. Part the hair vertically down from the crown to the nape, working in small sections (ensuring the sections are the same width as the brush you are using), left and then right. Treat the fringe area as its own section.

For natural waves like Kates’, use a smaller barrel brush and ensure you hold the dryer at least 5 inches away from the hair. Curl the section up onto the brush and hold dryer underneath it for a curly result.

You may not be married to a Prince....but you too can have glossy locks just like Kates!

Step 5

Finish your look with a touch of sparkle using L’Oréal’s Mythic Oil. Apply to dry hair as a finishing touch, this lightweight oil leaves hair feeling nourished and supple with added looking shine.
